Pastor Timothy G. Williams
Rev. Timothy G. Williams is the Founding and
Senior Pastor/Teacher of The Gospel Way Baptist Church.
After having answered the call to ministry while at New Beginning Missionary Baptist Church, Minister Williams was licensed to preach by Rev. I.H. Readon in 1993. Minister Williams preached his trial sermon entitled "Troubled on Every Side" August 23, 1993.
Minister Williams quickly rose to Assistant Pastor at New Beginning. He delegated, among other duties, the responsibilities of the other associate Ministers for the early morning worship services.
A short while later Pastor Williams was led to return to his roots at the Christian Methodist Episcopal church under the dynamic leadership of
Rev. H.C. Wilkes, the Presiding Elder.
While serving at Trinity C.M.E. Church in Overtown (an urban area in Miami, FL) Rev. Williams was ordained as an Elder.
After having spearheaded several outreach ministries that served the impoverished community and appointed the Assistant Pastor to Rev. Wilkes, Rev. Williams was selected by Bishop Bass in July 1996 to serve as the Pastor of St. Peters C.M.E. Church in Jensen Beach, FL and to serve as the Pastor of the Gospel Truth C.M.E. Church in Pompano Beach, FL concurrently.
Though living in Miami, FL at the time Pastor Williams drove every Sunday morning to Jensen Beach (over 100 miles each way) for Sunday morning worship service and left there for a 4:00pm afternoon worship service at the Gospel Truth C.M.E. Church.
In 1998 Pastor Williams was assigned to Faith Mission C.M.E. Church in Miami, FL with the charge to combine The Gospel Truth with Faith Mission C.M.E. Church. While this was an ambitious undertaking it was doomed to failure on many levels, chief was an unrecognized balloon mortgage payment that was maturing that the newly forming church could ill afford.
Pastor Williams founded The Gospel Way Baptist Church in 1999 and has been the Senior Pastor/Teacher since it's inception. Through an affiliation with the Southern Baptist Convention The Gospel Way Baptist Church has sponsored many churches throughout the Miami area.
